Over the course of the year there are a number of events that occur for a short time. During these events, some game mechanics will differ and there will be a quest tailored to that event for the duration.
April Event
- Main article: April Event
The April Event adds temporary changes which are fun and slightly silly, but may not be as balanced as regular gameplay. During the April Event, SuperHorse spawns in every game regardless of player count, and in addition to the normal heroes. Other current April Event features include:
- Gazebogotchi, a virtual pet which must be kept fed and happy throughout the game.
- Challenge Mode, two optional toggles to make the game more difficult for the player.
- Distraction Creepers, which make confusing noises to bewilder dwarves.
Halloween Event
- Main article: Halloween Event
The Halloween Event includes changes which bring a spooky, scary tone to this game about zombies and skeletons. The event allows Emboars to spawn as regular special monsters, and adds SuperHorse to the regular hero pool. The event includes:
- Ghosts, which are similar to zombies but with some additional abilities.
- Moon Events, which replace the usual Temporal Shift and affect gameplay in unique ways.
- Witches, which throw potions to harm dwarves and heal monsters.
- Candy Apples, which can be collected by dwarves and eaten to provide random positive or negative effects.
Winter Event
- Main article: Winter Event
Occurring around Christmas, the Winter Event puts on a seasonal layer of paint over the game as a whole but does not alter much core gameplay, leaving most of it to be cosmetic. The event includes Cookies, which dwarves can use to enable team-wide perks, as well as presents, which drop when special monsters are killed and can be collected by dwarves to provide scavenger rewards. The Winter Event also allows players to throw snowballs at each other.
